Breaking Right Now Salmon in DSR and Staircase and Ball Park.

August 25, 2018 by Salmon River Newbie Leave a Comment

I just got reliable reports from three different sources that there was some action happening from DSR to the Staircase. The action took place during early hours and there are still some fish on the move at the DSR. We are not talking heavy or large or even small pods b but there was enough fish for a few anglers to bring fish to hand. I have a message out to an angler who got into a salmon morning above the DSR. Once I get more info from him I will update the report.

The fish above is from Kody Trombley. This is from this morning. He is a legit and looks like he gets into fish regularly pretty early so his pic is reliable.

Here is the DSR’s report.

“Only one angler has come up so far and that due to the fact that he need to tend a salmon that he was able to bring to hand. He indicated that things have slowed with the coming of the sun, but that the fishing was pretty good early on and that he had seen maybe a dozen salmon on the move at first light. As more information becomes avbailable, I will be sure to update this site.”

Report By Douglaston Salmon Run
You can stay and fish on private waters with limited anglers at the Douglaston Salmon Run located 301 County Route 5 Pulaski, NY 13142 or call them at 315-298-6672.

This is confirmation of what I’m hearing above the DSR. Again this is not a heavy push of fish so all you out of staters don’t run to your cars but this is just an encouraging sign of what this season could be.
