initial fishing report for 4 October 2016

River Patrol reporting decent fish in estuary, and throughout the river, but not much movement after the mid-morning – still what can best be described as a steady trickle into the river and movement of small groups of 2 to 4 fish upriver, which has provided steady action for the clients – best action at first light and at end of the day

Reports from those that fished this morning suggest that the fishing was very good from first light until around 10 or 10:30 at which point it slowed somewhat. This afternoon most angler indicated that there was good fish movement at the lower end of the run. Frequent reports of double digit hook ups and numerous fish brought to hand. A good mix of coho’s as well.

rained last night and early this morning – cloudy, water at 60 degrees – River Patrol reported a lot of fish in the estuary early on this morning (near state land portion as well as our property line in the middle channel), fish not really moving up but were “aggressive” – a subsequent report by a guide at 10:30 AM was that there were not a lot of fish . . . River Patrol reported that action was great all along the run this morning, with “constant hook-ups”

Reports before the rains came were that good numbers of fish coming in from the estuary. If this rain conintues tomorrow could be a very good day. Today, all told, was a good day on the run. Never tons of fish but a steady trickle on one’s and twos kept our anglers busy for the better part of the day.
