Evening FIshing Report Oct 08
10/8/2016Today has been awesome for fishing! I had a guide and an angler say the Joss Hole was on fire today with fish! They had been fishing from the morning to early afternoon. But, no matter the time of day, the river has been full of fish. Lots of King Salmon some Steelhead and Coho spotted as well. The lower half had the most action, but the whole river had tons of fish. You couldn’t pick a bad fishing spot today! Last I saw, we have 2 passes left online for 10/9 & 10/12! Buy your passes online now! They are going fast. If you lost out on purchasing an online pass, but you want to take your chances getting one here is the procedure we have in place as of this week.
AM: Show up at 5am when the gates open and take a number. At 6:15/6:30am we will then issue passes as they are available by calling out the number you received in line. We are doing car counts at 10 & 11am to see if any cars left so we can issue more passes.
PM: Same deal as AM, but I suggest showing up at 10:30am to get a number. I’ve had people lining up before 11am this week. We are doing car counts at 12, 1, & 2pm to see if people have left.
We understand this is an imperfect system, but we want to hold to our promise that you will have a good fishing experience by limiting the number of anglers that have access to the river so you are not dealing with overcrowding issues you’d have fishing in town. We at the Douglaston Salmon Run want to insure you have a safe, clean, and pleasurable experience when you fish on the property.
Fishing Report Oct 8 Mid Day
10/8/2016Still limited numbers of anglers have come up from the run, but the few that have say that they have had a great day. Fishermen are leaving saying that they are sore and ready to go home and soak in the bath. Earlier reports of good numbers of fish coming into the lower end of the run have been confirmed and we are still getting reports that the remainder of the run is fishing very well. As one agler just said at the window. “There are fish in the river. They’re moving right now.”
Fishing Report Oct 8 Morning
10/8/2016At 9:15 AM no angler’s have come up from the water. The few reports from the river is that many fish are entering the run at the lower end and the rest of the run is fishing very well. As more weary anglers come up with sore arms, we will update with more precise information.
