initial fishing report 8 Sep 17
9/8/2017an overcast, warm, calm day that started with drizzles and some far off thunder that moved out of the area around 8:00 AM or so – after all the rain yesterday, and especially overnight, the CFS bumped up to 500 / 695 – there was no indication of the release at the dam being any higher later today or tonight – water was stained from run-off so that visibility was about 18″ – as I was receiving reports from clients, I was scratching my head about why there was such a wide disparity in what was being reported, by clients fishing the same general area, ranging from “I did not see anything moving /. hook into a single fish” to “had a pretty good day and the fish are still moving in and through” – by mid-morning, when more clients started coming back up, I was able to get a clearer picture of what was happening throughout the run – in essence, if you were a sight fisherman, you were out of luck for today due to the staining – if you were able to read the water, trusted in fish being there, and had honed your techniques to pick them out you did well enough – lower area reported a good early morning push of fish through the South channels but little movement through the North channel, middle section was fairly active for experienced fishermen – there were scattered reports of a few fish sighted moving through the shallower of the middle section – upper section was relatively inactive in that I only had two reports from there, both ones and twos at most –
