CFS 350 at the dam, 518 at Pineville
the DSR portion of the river is open from just below the Black Hole (near the town sewage treatment plant) to the Wall Hole, with open water and low-lying shelf ice. From the Wall Hole down to the Flats the water is open and fishable, however the shelf ice is higher up on the banks. A fisherman informed me today that he was able to fish the Josh Hole from head to tail (just be careful of falling ice) so it looks like our warming trend is breaking up the river ice even more, and moving it down river.
our relatively early morning anglers, who fished a couple of hours, did not fare well either drifting egg sacks under bobbers or swinging flies
those that fished late morning to mid-afternoon reported success drifting nymphs, or drifting pink egg sacks under bobbers
we still have some early arrivers who have not come off the river – a good sign?
