CFS 350 at the dam and 548 at Pineville
although the weather was great today (light winds, sunny all day, a little cold but not unbearable) there were not any clients on the river today, probably because the river was somewhat slushy from low temperatures
I suspect that with the projected overnight low tonight, tomorrow morning will also see slush in the system. However, the temperature will climb to a high of 30 degrees tomorrow, so in the late morning and early afternoon there might be a good opportunity to get on the water and have a productive day of fishing (check out the level of slush in the river from the “low bridge” in the town of Pulaski, or call the Salmon River Sports Shop situated right on the river at that location (315) 298 – 4343; they can look out the window and tell you how the river looks right then and there).
There is a warming trend into the high 40s for both Wednesday and Thursday, which should flush out the river and provide good fishing those days as well as into the weekend. I am providing the forecast below so you can make your plans – when you come, the upper parts of the river within the DSR have been most productive:
Douglaston Salmon Run
You can stay and fish on private waters with limited anglers at the Douglaston Salmon Run located 301 County Route 5 Pulaski, NY 13142 or call them at 315-298-6672.
