On August 22nd, 2015, I walked the Salmon River NY. Having read some of the other reports I left my rod and reel in the car and just took my time walking up and down some of the main fishing areas.
I’m not the best fish spotter but with the water being at 185 its pretty easy to see fish moving. Since I did not walk the full river fish could be holding in some non accessible deeper holes but based on reports there are no fish right now. What is good to hear is that salmon are being caught in water 150ft of the lake so they are getting closer.
I have seeing that some of our neighbors to the north in the province of Ontario are catching fish in their colder tributaries. This is encouraging. Should be any week.
