After a great push on Thursday to Saturday, it was like the river went on a full rager but woke up on Sunday as a hangover. Monday and Tuesday continued the pattern of being hungover. Tuesday the weather was unseasonably hot – it was 82 degrees. I fished in shorts for the last day of 2019.
A hot day on the river it was 82 degrees. The Estuary continues to be unpredictable. In the past, the Estuary’s conditions was a predictor of the rest of the run. The Estuary was not full last night and there was no activity.
Although, the sun was out lots of the anglers I spoke were a bit gloomy. Additionally, more pressure than previous during mid-week. However, from what I saw there was enough fish. After 3 PM when it became cloudy there was more fish movement however we had to leave the run early due to the thunderstorm.
Early moving and then after the rain in the afternoon fish began to move.
Things were slower in the bigger holes but the Lower Fly Zones were producing.
The Oak Orchard is starting to fish better every day.
Burt Dam is reporting that fish are at the dam.
