Salmon River Sports Shop Daily Report

Hi everyone, Salmon river is running @ 500 cfs… Ohhhhh!!!!! Here we go!!!! 25 pound plus Kings! Whales for males!! You mite start thinking about getting into that 30 pound club this season. There on there way!! Most fishermen that have been pressuring the mouth of the river are landing big big Kings. Easier to manage from a boat but in the river not so much. The wand has to fit the hand!! Which means the rod, reel, line and hook have to accommodate each other and the fisherman using it!! King Salmon can put a hurt’in on gear and you. You can’t stop them!! Get your track shoes on you gotta run them down and need the appropriate gear. If your thinking about getting the right outfit or you need us to check out the gear you are using we will help!! Questions most asked? Where do I start in the morning? As close to the mouth of the river as possible. Takes these big beasts a lot longer to get up steam then Coho’s. What pound test should I be using? Depends mainly on your rod and size of your reel. Meat stick with a large arbor reel for 30 pound King Salmon. Do you care what we need at your store? Absolutely!!! Hence Salmon River Sports Shop we are right on the Salmon River. Happy Fishing!!!! srss j button
