We have started to see a few browns being caught here in the river. we do have browns that stay in the river all year. Browns are a blast to catch Once the water go’s up more we should see a run of them coming off the lake. Egg sacks and beads are a great bait for browns. because browns like to eat eggs. Once the ice go’s off the lake it is a great time to go out and troll the shore lines of lake Ontario with spoons and stick baits. Or cast for them from shore. if casting from shore find a creek mouth and start there browns like to hang out n front of creek mouths and will go up the creek or river to search for food. Did you know that a mature female trout can lay up to 3,000 eggs that’s really not a lot when compared to other fish like a walleye which can lay any where from 50,000 to 100,000 eggs. We do offer trips for browns in the lake for more info on trolling the lake for browns call us at the shop 315-298-4343
