The Town Pool or Short Bridge Pool is on Salina St and River St.
There is no parking except a few handicapped spaces at the pool and there are porta potties. If you want to park you can park you can park on 11 in front of the Yankee Fly and Tackle Shop.
There is also parking behind the Archer’s End Zone which is off Maple Ave. There is further parking on Lewis St in the Dunbar Field.
The Town Pool as is commonly refereed to is the epicenter of the Salmon River in Pulaski NY. During the season in the fall the Town Pool will be crowded from sun up to sun down and there will people looking over the bridge to see the annual run of the salmon.
Due to the popularity of this pool there are lots of Department of Conservation (DEC) officers checking to make sure that people are following the fishing regulations.
For some the Town Pool is the epitome of the salmon fishing season and thoroughly enjoy all of the people and atmosphere. For others that are typically fly fishing or float fishing purist feel like the atmosphere and crowds take away from the sport of fishing.
Regardless of how you feel about the Town Pool it is still spectacle to watch the crowds and the beauty of the salmon running upstream from the bridge.
