Due to the popularity of this pool there are lots of Department of Conservation (DEC) officers checking to make sure that people are following the fishing regulations.
For some the Town Pool is the epitome of the salmon fishing season and thoroughly enjoy all of the people and atmosphere. For others that are typically fly fishing or float fishing purist feel like the atmosphere and crowds take away from the sport of fishing.
